Our Services

We strongly advise persons considering an immigration application to take advice from a specialist immigration practitioner and to use their services in preparing and submitting applications. This will often avoid unnecessary expenditure and time consuming immigration appeals.

Wortley Legal Consultants can help you in a variety of ways if you are making an application to the UK authorities, whether you are doing so from within the UK or from abroad.

Initial Advice

The quality and the way an application is presented can make the difference as to whether it is a success or failure.

Our experienced team of immigration specialists will provide an honest assessment on the merits of the case and advise you using our knowledge and expertise, on the best course of action . Once briefed we are able to prepare applications and supporting documentation quickly and efficiently and to ensure that it is promptly forwarded to the UK Border Agency.

We are proud of our reputation for success and work hard to maintain and build it.

We provide details here of some of the main categories of immigration:

Employers

As an employer, you have the responsibility to ensure that your employees are legally permitted to work in the UK.

If not, you could be found guilty of a criminal offence if your employee has no legal right to live or work in the UK.

Entry Clearance

This applies to Visa nationals outside the UK who plan to enter and stay in the UK:

* Marriage Visas - A marriage visa or spouse visa allows the husband, wife or civil partner of a person who is settled in the UK leave to enter and live in the UK for up to 2 years, or

* Fiancé Visas - A fiancé visa allows the fiancé, fiancee or prospective civil partner of a permanent resident of the UK to enter the country.

Work Permits

Business and commercial work permits for people outside the European Economic Area to fill a role within a UK company that could otherwise be filled by a resident worker.

Tier 1 (General)

Tier 1 (General) of the points-based immigration system is designed to allow highly skilled migrant workers to come to the UK to live and work. This tier replaces the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (HSMP) which is being closed in phases.

Intra- Company Transfers

Intra-Company Transfers allow an employee to come from an overseas branch of a company to work in a UK business of the same company.

Workers Registration Scheme

Workers registration scheme is for nationals from countries* who have recently joined the
European Union (EU) who wish to come to the UK to live and work.

*Czech Republic
*Estonia
*Hungary
*Latvia
*Lithuania

Indefinite Leave To Remain - Settlement
